“Upper Italy” realizes that in its last couple of notes relative to HRH Charles, Prince of Wales (here) and to France’s President, M. Nicolas Sarkozy (here), we have perhaps slighted the majesty of their positions and the beauty of their souls.
We live in a funny time when the poor are fatter than the rich and the lazy more sun-tanned than those who work hard. Though it overturns all human experience to say so, in the same way it is perhaps the powerful who, in this instance, merit the benefit of our doubt.
Of course, if they could just keep that damned gleam out of their eyes, it would be easier for everyone involved…
